This Law Enforcement escorted ride
is
approximately 60 miles in length and will travel through scenic Levy County.
This ride is free of cost but donations are greatly appreciated. Riders will
have another opportunity to support Levy ARC by purchasing a meal at the end of
the ride. Proceeds from this event directly support the Levy Association for
Retarded Citizens. T-Shirts will be available in Black and Ash Gray prior to
ride as well as the day of the ride.
The "Ride to Provide" was established in 2006 by members of the Levy County Law Enforcement Community and friends who recognized the need to support a very special group, the Levy Association for Retarded Citizens.
This event is held annually to benefit the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes and is Georgia's largest dice/poker run.
Participants in the 2009 event came from all over the Southeast, but the majority were from surrounding Middle & southern Georgia counties. There were numerous law enforcement and public safety organizations represented. A large crowd for this year's event is also expected.
The route for the 2009 ride covered approximately 100 miles and had stops in Hawkinsville, Montezuma, and Byron, before returning to the Agricenter. The 2010 ride will likely cover a similar distance.
